Moieties
A moiety, (plural, Moieties) in chemistry is a functional group. It is also a form of social organization dividing a group into two classes or categories.
Origin: The word comes from Middle English Moite, a half. The word derives from a Latin term for half.
Sociology: A moiety is an intermarrying division of society which describe kin relationships and provide a general guide to behaviour.
Art: A moiety can play an important role in determining the subjects which an artist may paint.
